Mads Damlund trained as an organist and pianist at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, finishing with his debut recital as an organist in 2006.

Since his studies, he has performed on the clavichord as well, with solo recitals in Denmark and abroad, including in Musica Antiqua a Magnano, Italy, the Nordic Historical Keyboard Festival in Finland, the meeting of the German Clavichord Society in Wittenberg, and the Chopin Society of Hamburg's festival in 2024.

In 2022 his ”Clavichord Music from the Danish Golden Age” was released on Helikon Records, and recently he released ”H. O. C. Zinck Sonatas” on Da Capo Records.

Mads started the Copenhagen International Clavichord Festival at Brønshøj Church in 2024 , and he has written several articles, including about Carl Nielsen’s clavichord. Mads has participated in several broadcasts about the clavichord for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.
